Just a short message to say a huge ‘thank you’ for your support at the beginning of this school year. Unfortunately, as with most schools across NI, we have been affected by COVID and the new guidelines that are in place for our schools. If your child has received their negative PCR test they may return to school tomorrow at their normal time. Please be advised that a substitute teacher, Mrs Duddy, will be covering for a few days. All work has already been planned for and resources prepared so your child’s learning will go ahead as planned. I will return to school on Tuesday 14th Sept and will VERY MUCH be looking forward to seeing the children again then.
Thank you again, so much, for everything. Any queries or concerns, please contact me via email firstname.lastname@example.org

Welcome to P1/2 AB in Maghaberry Primary School. In our class, we love to learn through playful approaches. We all enjoy our Jolly Phonics programme through which we learn our sounds and letters. This helps us become great readers and develop into wonderful writers as well.
There is an excellent variety of independent learning activities and other tasks where we work together, always learning from each other.
Most of our learning is delivered through a topic based approach and this is a great cross curricular way for us to learn in a meaningful manner. We incorporate a Growth Mindset approach in all we do. With hard work and perseverance each one of us has the ability to achieve anything we hope to achieve. Mistakes are ok too. They’re just signs that we are learning.
P1/2 are encouraged to become as independent as possible and we work a lot on becoming happy, helpful and kind children. Some of us also choose to wear our slippers in class. This helps us feel really comfy which allows us to learn and do our very best work.
In our class, we try our best and we always look after each other because we are a team. We love music, art and learning about our natural environment.
