As our drop-off and pick-up times are to be strictly adhered to, there will unfortunately be little opportunity for conversations with the teachers in the mornings or afternoons. However, please feel free to make contact via the email address below with any queries or questions and, if a further conversation is required, a phone call can be arranged.
Thank you, in advance, for your understanding,
Year 1 - Miss A Bryans (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Hello, hello, hello new P1 children,
This is a little message from me, Miss Bryans, to say I really can't wait to see you all on your first day of P1. I loved meeting you all in July and have been looking forward to getting our school year started together. I hope that you are all excited too. If you are a little nervous, that's ok. I promise that Mrs Cahill (our lovely classroom assistant that you met in July as well), and I will be super nice. You can ask us any wee questions that you might have and we will all work together to make sure that we have a fun time in P1. We will have lots of time to learn, play, listen to music, create some artwork, explore outside and listen to stories. I can't wait!
See you next week
A little message to you as well. I'm sure there are mixed emotions about your children starting school at this strange time. I would like to assure you that both myself and Mrs Cahill are here to provide a calm and nurturing environment for your children to grow and learn. It's been a long few months without the echo of children's voices and laughter here in school and I am really looking forward to the return of that. Things will be a little different this year than usual but I assure you that our main aim is always to help your child thrive in our P1 class. We will be making the most of our outdoor areas and have planned suitable alternatives to our 'normal' routines. I very much appreciate all of your positive feedback when we met in July. Your support means so much to me and will be crucial in your child's learning journey. If you have any questions or concerns, please do feel free to send me an email - email@example.com
Enjoy your last few days off together. Looking forward to seeing you all next week,
Miss A Bryans.
P.S. Please keep a wee eye on the school app for any updates and please stick to your scheduled times for arriving at school. This will be so helpful.
Welcome to P1 AB in Maghaberry Primary School. In our class, we love to learn through playful approaches. We all enjoy our Jolly Phonics programme through which we learn our sounds and letters. This helps us become great readers and develop into wonderful writers as well.
There is an excellent variety of independent learning activities and other tasks where we work together, always learning from each other.
Most of our learning is delivered through a topic based approach and this is a great cross curricular way for us to learn in a meaningful manner. We incorporate a Growth Mindset approach in all we do. With hard work and perseverance each one of us has the ability to achieve anything we hope to achieve. Mistakes are ok too. They’re just signs that we are learning.
P1 are encouraged to become as independent as possible and we work a lot on becoming happy, helpful and kind children. Some of us also choose to wear our slippers in class. This helps us feel really comfy which allows us to learn and do our very best work.
In our class, we try our best and we always look after each other because we are a team. We love music, art and learning about our natural environment.
