Welcome to P1/2(AB) in Maghaberry Primary School. In our class, we love to learn through playful approaches. We all enjoy our Jolly Phonics programme through which we learn our sounds and letters. This helps us become great readers and develop into wonderful writers as well.
There is an excellent variety of independent learning activities and other tasks where we work together, always learning from each other.
Most of our learning is delivered through a topic based approach and this is a great cross curricular way for us to learn in a meaningful manner. We incorporate a Growth Mindset approach in all we do. With hard work and perseverance each one of us has the ability to achieve anything we hope to achieve. Mistakes are ok too. They’re just signs that we are learning.
P1 are encouraged to become as independent as possible and we work a lot on becoming happy, helpful and kind children. P2 work on these areas as well and we can build on our knowledge from P1 to develop more comprehensive skills in all areas of learning. Some of us also choose to wear our slippers in class. This helps us feel really comfy which allows us to learn and do our very best work.
In our class, we try our best and we always look after each other because we are a team. We love music, art and learning about our natural environment.
Miss Bryans' P1/2 class is a fun and fabulous group of children. We hope you enjoy looking through our photos and reading about what we get up to in school.
