The formula for calculating the area of a rectangle / square is Length x Breadth or A = L x B
The formula for calculating the area of a triangle is Length x Breadth divided by 2 or A = L x B

When calculating area of composite shapes, 'break' the shape down into manageable squares and rectangles then add the smaller areas together.
When measuring any pictures that are not exact work to the nearest centimetre.
