Mental Maths warm ups continue as normal. Remember to read each question carefully and work on becoming more accurate as the week goes on. You should have plenty of time to look over your answers and see where you are making mistakes. This will help you to avoid making them next time.
This week you should be completing Monday - Thursday pages 60 - 61
This week we are going to be looking at Capacity in our maths work so it's a good idea to revise some of the Capacity facts to make things easier for you.
Please learn the relationship between litres, half litres, quarter of a litre and three quarters of a litre.
How many mls in each - 1 litre, 1/2 litre, 3/4 litre 1/4 litre?
How many litres in 1000ml? 5000ml?
Is 250 ml the same as 1/2 or 1/4 of a litre?
We are going to continue to work with decimals this week.
The following worksheets should be completed at your own speed and take your time to ensure you are confident each time before you move on.
This week your table facts are all about litre and millilitres. These worksheets will help you practice these skills. If you can get outside, and have a collection of different bottles and containers and access to water from a hose or an outside tap, you could conduct some great experiments. Just make sure you don't soak anyone!
These word problems give us an opportunity to try out all the mathematical skills we have learnt. Read the questions carefully and decide on the best approach. Remember to think about the information in the question and decide if it is necessary - sometimes there are facts and numbers you don't need. It's up to you to decide.
