Hi boys and girls,
This feels very strange typing this here at my kitchen table when normally we would be in school together, celebrating our year, having a wee party and just enjoying our last couple of days together as a classroom family. You guys are the best. Honestly, I loved every minute with you all. You are such a great bunch of children who worked hard and made me smile every day. I have missed you so, so much over this past few months.
P2 kiddies, we are lucky that we had each other for a year and a half. I'm really grateful for that because you're all superstars. I loved seeing how much progress you had all made by the end of Term 2 and I loved how well we all knew each other. We were a great team. You will love P3. It will be so much fun and we will still be classroom neighbours so I will get to see you lots and lots. P3 is super exciting and has loads of fun topics. I can't wait to hear how you all get on with that. I have no doubt that you will be awesome! Your new teacher is going to love you!
P1 kiddies, I am so sad that we didn't get to finish our year together. You guys are so much fun and I was loving getting to know you and teach you all. You are a kind, loving and hard working wee bunch of children and I loved how much you were good friends towards each other. I wish I could wave a wee magic wand and let us finish P1 together, but it's ok, because your new teachers are so lovely and I will still get to see you all every day in school and check how you are all getting on. P2 is a fantastic year where you will learn so much.
All of you, I love you and am very proud of you. You know where I will be if any of you ever need anything. Your new teachers are lucky ducks. I have already told them all about you and they can't wait to meet you.
You can now have a really well deserved Summer break! Happy days!!!
Your mums and dads might still ask you to do little bits and pieces of learning over the holidays to make sure your brains don't get sleepy and that's ok. Help them out and do a little bit and it will mean you'll be fresh and ready for coming back in September.
Parents...Wow! I'm sure you are all exhausted but equally as proud of your children as I am. I really do need to say a massive 'thank you' from the bottom of my heart. None of us could have got through this as well without the amazing support we have received from you all. Although I have no doubt that helping your children with their learning from home has been tough, it has been a special time for you to get a deeper insight into your child's learning and all that they can do. The children, I'm sure, will have really enjoyed having this time with you. Thank you for being on board with everything we have been providing over this past couple of months. It was a big shock to the system for us, as teachers, trying to plan remotely and give you guys enough to keep going without totally overwhelming you. We fully understand that each and every home has been experiencing different circumstances during this time so whatever you were able to do, thank you, thank you, thank you for that. It was so nice to get chatting to you all on the phone and receiving the emails that you sent me. They kept me going throughout this strange time. The materials that we uploaded over the past few months will remain on the website so feel free to catch up on anything that you missed if you would like to. Please keep reading with your child and doing little bits and pieces to keep them ticking over. You will have seen what your child copes well with and what they maybe need a wee bit of help with so use the ideas that we have provided over the past weeks. Ultimately though, please all take time to rest and reset. You deserve it so much.
Please stay in touch, I would love to hear what you're all up to over the summer and if you need any help with anyone, just let me know.
Thank you for everything. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
