Parent Teacher Association

Registered charity number NIC102542

What we do:

The PTA aims to provide funding to the Primary School and Nursery Unit for additional resources to support the school and advance the education of all pupils while developing effective relationships between the staff and parents of the school and the local community.

How we raise money:

Each year the PTA raises money from a variety of events. The biggest sources of income are from the Summer Fete, Christmas Craft Fair and parental voluntary contributions. We also raise money through Easyfundraising, Cash for Clobber and from other events such as discos, Smartie tube collections and copper collections.

Working together:

We are very lucky to have great support from the parents, staff and the pupils who all work together to make our events so successful. We are also fortunate to have a number of businesses (both local and families of pupils) which support us by regularly making generous donations. Recently we worked along with Maghaberry Elim Church to raise £900 for Macmillan Cancer.

Where the money goes:

Each year the PTA funds transport for 1 school trip per class, sports day prizes and Christmas treats for the children. Recently we have funded Spanish lessons for all children in the School & Nursery Unit, a new reading scheme for P4-P7 as well as a sound system and projector for the School Hall.
